It was an amazing mix of musical styles on stage yesterday at Belgrade Jazz. Starting with the Spanish pianist David Pena Dorantes who combined jazz with classical music and flamenco adding a great show with a dancing lady. After that worldwide awarded sax player Miguel Zenon and his band gave us a good proof of the speed of jazz, followed by Italian Francesco Cafiso and his sextet in the upstairs room who added folk music to jazz making a great party with his blowing section. And finally Austrian Lia Pale who brought the peace back to the room with music based on famous poetry. Although I’d preferred having Pale and Cafiso in a different order it was a great night.
